Ms. Rosa Holsey

The Lord called Rosa Lee Holsey home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Wilson Hospice House.

Ms. Rosa Lee Holsey was born on March 19, 1937 in Randolph County, GA to John and Eva (Butler) Holsey. Rosa Lee had three siblings – her twin sister, Betty, her sister Gloria, and her brother Willie. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.

The church and her spiritual life were always of great importance to Rosa Lee. She accepted Christ at an early age by joining Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Randolph County, GA. Upon moving to Albany, she eventually joined Bethany Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop Wayne D. Leggett where she served faithfully until illness prevented her attendance.

Rosa Lee was educated in the public schools of Randolph County, GA.  She was employed as a domestic worker for many years until her retirement.

Rosa Lee touched the lives of many people with her generosity and sweet disposition. She was a companion and caregiver to many of her relatives. If asked to describe Rosa Lee, her family would simply say, “She was there for us.”

She leaves to cherish her memory two nieces, Sonya (David) Stanley and April (Robert) Hand; three nephews, Rodney Lawrence, David (Teisha) Lawrence, and Billie Lawrence all of Atlanta, GA; and a host of grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, cousins, and friends.
