Donnetta was a fun-loving person who always wanted to laugh, collect memories, and spend time with as many people as possible. She would welcome you in with open arms and always be a listening ear. She was committed to knowing as much as she could to remain self-sufficient, insightful, and connected to the world.
Donnetta passed away on November 6th, 2024, at age 63. She was born on March 14th, 1961, in Albany, GA, to Matilda and Willie B. Sanders, Sr. She remained in Albany until her transition. She shared her love for God as a Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church member and served the community through Eureka Baptist Church. Donnetta graduated from Albany High School (Class of 1979) and continued her education at Darton State College to complete her associate's degree. She also furthered her education with various certificate programs at Albany Technical College. Her career journey streamed from work with the Hughston Medical Clinic, DOCO Sheriff's Department, and Albany State University. She was an excellent Typist with an estimated speed of 80 words per minute. She was also a supporter of at-risk youth locally, nationally, and internationally. For fun, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, baking cakes, being creative, taking pictures, and going to community events.Donnetta is survived by her son, Antonio "Duke" Sanders, grandchild, Ca'Teama (Mardarius) Sanders-McWhorter, and great-grandchild, Camille McWhorter. Her remaining siblings include Essie (Eddie) Ansari, Jeanette Sanders, Betty Sanders, Evelyn (Samuel) Chester, Willie Sanders, Jr., Earnest (U'Clla) Sanders, and Dave (Debra) Sanders. She has several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded by her siblings Lula Francisque, Daisy Green, Roger Sanders, and Jerry Sanders. She loved and cherished each of them. Special acknowledgment and gratitude go to Wilbur Williams, a dear friend and lifelong neighbor, for his kind heart and dedication to her wellbeing.
