To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born: Aurelia Christine Jenkins was born on January 9, 1954 in Albany, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Roland Lewis Jenkins and the late Dorothy Christine Bryson Jenkins.
A time to get: Aurelia was a product of the Dougherty County School System. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1972 and continued with further studies at Albany State University. She was employed with Turner Job Corp Center, Albany, Georgia for twenty plus years where she made a great impact on the staff and students universally. She had an immeasurable love for young adults.
A time to build up: Aurelia was the mother of four daughters: Serenity, Yolanda, Amelia and Rebecca. She strived to bring them up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. She was a loving mother who encouraged her children to noble lives and higher ideals.
A time to grow: Aurelia joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church at a young age. She was under the pastorage of Reverend John Wesley Lowe. While on her Christian journey she served diligently at Lion of Judah International Ministries where she was ordained as an Elder and served as the Mother of the Church. In 2017 she became a member of New Mount Olive Baptist Church under the pastorage of her eldest brother the Reverend Roland Lewis Jenkins Jr. where she served as the Director of the Outreach Ministry and as a member of the Pastor’s Support Team.
A time to weep: Preceding Aurelia in death was her sibling David L Jenkins.
A time to die: Aurelia took her last breath on January 14, 2022. Though she is absent from the body, she is present with Christ.
A time to mourn: Aurelia was survived by four (4) daughters: Serenity Grace, Yolanda Mays (Charles), Amelia Jenkins and Rebecca Camp. She also leaves to cherish her memories, three (3) brothers: Reverend Roland L Jenkins Jr. (Odessa), Reverend Avery G Jenkins (Cynthia) and Reverend Samuel E Jenkins and a devoted sister friend Mary Louise Daniels. She leaves behind nine (9) grandchildren: Ebony Jenkins, Nimshi Howard, Javonte’ Hamilton, Tyreque, Tyjuan and Tyquan Camp, Keshuan Mays, Kelsey Kennedy and Laila Mays and two (2) great grandchildren: Harlie and Islyn Hamilton.
Aurelia’s good days outweighed her bad days, she found much pleasure in life and the good things that it had to offer. Without hesitation, all must say, she fought a good fight, she kept the faith, always relying on the One who would present her faultless before His Father in glory. Well done thy good and faithful servant!
