Willie Rufus Williams was born May 19, 1953 to the late Abraham Williams Sr.
and Alberta Burton Williams. He peacefully transitioned from this life on
Thursday November 1, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA.
He was affectionately known by his middle name “Rufus”. He attended the public
schools of Dougherty County. “Rufus” accepted Christ at an early age. He joined
the Marines at age 18. He served and fought in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed
grilling, fishing, and taking walks. He loved spending time with his children and
family.
“Rufus” was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Emma W. Harris, Dollie
Mae Jackson, Essie Mae Cooks; Brother Willie Frank Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mary Abbott Williams, his four
children Tamatha(Alvin) Cross, Tiffani Williams, Briunna Williams, and Isaiah
Williams, Four step children; Tonya Roberts, Brian Timbes , Allen Timbes , and
Kandie Timbes; five grandchildren; sixteen step grandchildren; three sisters,
Alberta(Ronald)Smith, Mary Ann Williams, Sharon Jackson(Springfield, MT) ;
three brothers Steven Williams(Springfield, MT), Abraham Williams Jr., Henry
Lee Williams of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends and
family. Rufus will truly be missed.
