VaKesha Brown-Timley was born in Albany, Georgia on May 31,
1975 to the late Willie & Minnie Brown.
At an early age, she joined and was baptized at Ephesus Baptist
Church. She later joined First Monumental Faith Baptist Church.
VaKesha graduated from Monroe Comprehensive High School in
1993. She went on to further her education at Albany State
University where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology and
a master’s degree in Public Administration. She was a member of
the track team in high school and college.
She began her career with the Department of Public Health in
Albany, Georgia and later relocated to Tallahassee, Florida and
worked for 16 years with State of Florida Department of Public
Health.
On April 18, 2009, she joined the Albany Georgia Alumnae
Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated 74
Inaugural Pursuits of Divine Purpose. She later joined the
Tallahassee Alumnae Chapter. She was a devoted member from
the time she pledged until her transition.
On October 16, 2010 she married the love of her life, Tracy
Timley.
She leaves to celebrate her legacy, her husband, Tracy; her
daughter, Tracy Breuna; her siblings, Valerie, Tony, Ronald, and
William Brown; brother-in-law, Eric Timely; sister-in-law, Cauntae
Timely a host of nieces, nephews (whom she loved as her own),
aunts, uncles, and cousins. VaKesha will be remembered for her
vibrant personality, love of family and friends.
