Mrs. Sherrye Robertson

Mrs. Sherrye Ann Robertson (Walters) was born January 21, 1959 in Lee County, Ga to Ruby W. Smith (Lee County, GA) and the late James Lee Green (Lee County, GA).

She was educated and graduated from Lee County High School in 1976.  She furthered her education by receiving a degree in Cosmetology, a diploma in Business Administration, a diploma in Early Childhood Education, and she was working on an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood at Albany Technical College.

Mrs. Sherrye accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She had the sweetest spirit. She loved her husband, children, mother, family, and friends with all of her heart, and she believed that your word is your bond. She also believed in the Golden Rule. She treated people the way she wanted to be treated.
She held many positions in the church such as Choir President, Treasurer, Deaconess, Children Ministry, & Youth Ministry Director; she was dedicated to the mission ministry and teaching the youth and children bible study. Additionally, she sang in the choir for many, many years.

Mrs. Robertson was a dedicated working person.  She loved children so seasonally, she worked for Easter Seal.  Although, her primary career was cosmetology; eventually, this royal priesthood queen opened her own business entitled Sherrye’s Salon. She worked for many years until she became ill.

The Lord gave her rest on April 8, 2020 at 1:13pm in Augusta, Ga.  She leaves the memory to cherish of her life with her loving and devoted husband of 30 years together and 23 years married Kevin Doyle Robertson (Courtland, MS), Two daughters- Nadia Runeci Walters-Ryce (Marquell) (Albany, GA) & LaQuestria Gennelle Robertson (Batesville, MS), One son-Alex Jourdan Milledge (Albany, GA), Four living sisters- Evelyn Whitfield (Smyrna, GA), Marilyn Whitfield-Bell (Lee County, GA), Mary Green (Staten Island, NY), and Charmaine Dougall(Dwight) (Staten Island, NY), One living brother- Alvin James Walters (Lee County, GA).  She also had one sister and two brothers to precede her in death, Felicia Green-2015 (Staten Island, NY), Vennie Green-1983 (Staten Island, NY), and Bennie Green-2008 (Staten Island, NY), Four beautiful granddaughters- Nahla Alise Dawson (Albany, GA), Aubrey Rockett (Batesville, MS), Emorie Rockette (Batesville, MS), Nola Rockette (Batesville, MS), Two handsome grandsons- Nigel Alexander Thornton (Albany, GA) and Jordan Wright (Batesville, MS).  Additionally, Mother Sherrye Ann Walters-Robertson’s maternal grandparents, Alfred Waters (Lee County, GA) & Annie Mae Waters (Lee County, GA), and paternal grandparents Bill Green (Lee County, GA) & Doshia Green (Bristol, CT) preceded her in death.  Four living uncles- Walter Waters (Off Fort Myers, FL), Enzor Green (Bristol, CT), Frank Green (Sandusky, OH), Bill Green (Bristol, CT), One living aunt- Mary Wilson (Sicklerville, NJ)) In addition to this, she had three aunts and two uncles to precede her in death, Eula Mae Edison (Albany, GA), Jessie Shelton (Cincinnatti, OH), Annie Mae Nealy (Brentwood, NY), Robert Green (Virginia Beach, VA). Last but not least, she had a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and sorrowing friends.  She was loved immensely… One day we will see her again singing in the Heavenly Choir.  She will be dearly missed in all of our hearts…
