Cassie was born July 16, 1929 in Leesburg, Georgia to the late Arthur Prince and Lucy Fields Prince and was the matriarch of the Prince and Byrd families. On December 25, 1946 she
married Willie Byrd, Jr. and five boys were born into their union.
