Lula Mae Harvey, affectionately known as “Tat,” was born on June 26, 1932, in Dougherty County, Georgia, to the late Walter Lowe and the late Amanda Glaze Diggs.
Educated in the Dougherty County School System, she attended schools in Putney, Hazard Training School, and Madison High School in Albany.
Eula accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Under the pastorate of Reverend Jordan Mitchell, she was baptized in Piney Woods Creek on August 15, 1948. She served faithfully in the Jordanaires Choir for many years.
Eula departed this earthly realm to be received in her heavenly home on Friday, April 21, 2023. She passed away peacefully at her residence. Eula was preceded in death by her father, Walter Lowe; mother, Amanda Glaze Diggs; daughter, Marsha Harvey; siblings, Lucy Cummings, Orlando Keaton, Geneva Lowe, and Wilbur Lowe; and reared as siblings Louis Floyd Sr., Joseph Floyd Sr., Charlie Will Miller, Juanita Golden, and Bobby Glaze.
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughter, Detria Harvey Jones; granddaughter, Brittiani Jones, both of Albany, Georgia; grandson, Xavier Jones of Landover, Maryland; great-granddaughter, Briauna Roberts; great-grandsons, Jeremiah Jones and Jeremy Jones, all of Albany, Georgia; reared as sisters, Bernice Glaze of Albany, Georgia, Polly Williams of Brooklyn, New York, Elease Barlow of Albany, Georgia; and other loving family and friends.
