Samuel James Winfield Jr. was born on May 14, 1956 in Albany, Georgia to the late Samuel Wingfield Sr. and the late Mamie Lee.
Samuel was educated in Dougherty County School system. At the tender age of 9 years old, he began to apprentice as a mechanic under his father. That apprenticeship became his passion and lifelong career. Samuel was an avid football fan with the New England Patriots as his favorite team. He enjoyed watching football games with his children, family and friends. Samuel also loved fishing, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Samuel was preceded in death by two brothers Roger Wingfield and Michael Wingfield. three sisters Mary Wingfield, Ella Mae Ford, Louise Wingfield, and one granddaughter.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Betty Wingfield, four sons Samuel (Shansla) Bryant, Samuel (Kia) Wingfield, Michael Wingfield, and Rashad Wingfield. four daughters Keesa Thomas, Topeka (Tramaine) Redding, Latonya Acklin, Denise Nicole Wingfield (great-niece), two sisters Patricia Wingfield and Denise Wingfield, 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
