Peter Joe Miller was born to the late Peter Joe Miller Sr. and Josephine Walker Miller.
Peter was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System. He enlisted in the US Army after graduation. After returning home he attended Albany Technical College. Peter went on to work at McGregor, Proctor and Gamble, and Poteat Funeral Home (which is Poteat-Wakefield Funeral Directors).
Peter accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church for all his adult life. He served as the church clerk for many years and was on the cemetery committee.
Peter was united in marriage to Lillian Elizabeth Crawford and to this union one son was born Joseph Crawford Miller.
Peter loved his family and friends, and the feelings were mutual. His interactions and encounters with his family, friends and coworkers led to many fond memories that will forever be cherished.
Peter departed this earthly realm on Sunday October 22, 2023. at 12:02 a.m. at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Peter was preceded in death by his parents Peter Joe Miller Sr. and Josephine Walker Miller, one daughter Joanne King, two brothers Benny Gordon and Charlie Miller.
Peter leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife Lillian Elizabeth Crawford Miller, one sister Polly Miller Williams, one son Joseph Crawford Miller (Jontane), two grandsons Jared A. Miller and Jacob A. Miller, a special God grandson Joshua A. Gibson, two special God daughters Beth Martin Duncan (Lloyd) and Elizabeth R. Givens Gibson (Leon), a special God sister Verdine Martin Spicer Reece (Donoavon) and many relatives and friends.
