Charlie (Charles) Jenkins was born in Terrell County, Georgia on July 27, 1951 to the late Andrew Jenkins, Sr. and the late Martha Jenkins. He confessed his life for Christ at an early age and joined Mountain Grove Baptist Church in Herod, Georgia.Charlie graduated from Carver High School in Dawson, Georgia. He was drafted in the United States Army February 1971 where he served in Vietnam. He was discharged in February 1973 with an Honorable Discharge.
Charlie was employed with the Leary Supermarket, Warehouse Foods and Publix from which he retired in 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jenkins, Sr. his mother Martha Jenkins, two sisters, Carrie Bell Harvey and Maxine Brown, one brother Edgar Jenkins. Charlie was a kind, loving and compassionate person who loved everyone. On August 15, 2024 he gave up his busy walk for eternity when he proclaimed, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.
Charlie leaves to cherish his precious memories, a wife Joyce Jenkins, three sons, Jeffrey Jenkins, Gerald Jenkins, and Timothy Jenkins, One sister, Mae Frances Jenkins, two brothers Andrew Jenkins, Jr., Mack (Mary) Jenkins, one sister-in-law, Patricia Jenkins, a cousin Lena Pearl Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
