Freddie Lee Toson was born on March 4, 1918 to the late Willie and Lucinda Adams Toson. He was the youngest of ten children and all preceded him in death. He was married to the late Alma McFarland Toson. In this union, thirteen children were born and four preceded him in death. He departed this life on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Freddie joined Weldon Springs Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He served over eighty-eight years as a member and sixty years as a deacon. He served faithfully until his health failed.
He was a farmer at Nilo Plantation for over fifty years. He also raised his own hogs which he knew by name.
He leaves to cherish his memories, six daughters, Aquilla Toson, Alma Willis, LaVerne McRoy, Bessie "Flossie" Riley , Jewell Dillard an Ruby Toson all of Albany, three sons, Freddie Toson, Jr. and Johnny Toson of Albany and Benjamin (Letha) Munden of South Carolina, thirty-two grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and eleven great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
